Easter Eggstravaganza!

I've been prodded by Mom for about six months to post on here again.  I kept telling myself I'd post when I wasn't busy with work, homework, and going to class.  Well, I'm still busy with all that, but Phil told me the other day that I need to update my blog so he could have something to read.  Sorry Mom, but apparently a nudge from my boyfriend is more effective at getting me to post than your gentle reminders.  :)

Well, life has been...busy since my last update.  It's funny how the small things kinda just add up to become pretty big changes--like Phil.  Who'd have guessed a year ago that I'd be chatting to a crazy English bloke on a daily basis?  Not me.  For those of you who aren't aware, I've met a man named Phil and am "seeing" him in the wonderful netherworld known as the internet.  He's coming to the US to visit me in 24 days and will be staying for about a month.  I've got a lot of fun trips planned for when he comes, so I suppose you'll probably be seeing more posts from me in May and June.  I'm really excited, and those of you I talk to often are probably sick of hearing about him.  But that's okay, 'cause I'm sure I'll just be talking about him more as these 24 days slowly pass.

Oh.  My grandpa (Dad's dad) passed away in March.  I like to think that both my grandpas are swapping stories right now in heaven where neither of them is limited by their body anymore.  I went twenty-three years without ever going to a funeral, and I wish that record could have been longer...but I think it's best for my grandpa.  His body wasn't letting him do everything he wanted to do, but now he doesn't have to worry about that.

I'm sick of school.  Absolutely sick of it.  It's all just busy work.  This semester has been one of the worst semesters in college I've ever had because I just don't like doing the busy work.  Fortunately, it's almost over.  I just have to get myself to care about writing two more papers and taking a bunch of tests and it will be over.  Hallelujah.  I do not plan on going back to school in the fall.  A degree in International Relations seemed like a good idea, but I don't know how much it would actually help me find a job I want to do.  My dream job is to live in a cardboard box and write, and I think I'll be able to do that in the future if a few things go the way I hope they will.

Anyway, I'm posting about the Easter egg hunt the girls convinced me to have today after I woke up from a nap after work.  Since tomorrow might be rainy, it was probably for the best that we did it today.  I went all out for the girls again this year (unsurprisingly) and we had ourselves a fun hunt during the day.  Liz picked up Violet in the afternoon and then Lydia, Adelle, and I dyed some eggs and watched My Girl.  I'd forgotten how much that movie makes me want to cry.

Look how big that egg is!

Ahh...can you spot Violet's egg in this picture?  She found it really quickly.

I think the egg fell out of the flower by the time I let the girls go for it.

Poor Kyle's car...it was in a pancake accident last week when two SUVs smashed into the back because they didn't stop fast enough.  Kyle and I were unharmed, but his car wasn't.  But it did make a good place to hide eggs.

I don't think you can see any of the eggs in this picture.

Violet had fun pulling things out of Lydia's eggs.  That's her dog she got in her egg.

Mom gave Lydia some pig jacks for Easter.  We played with them on the back of our hands, trying to catch as many as we could after flipping them up.  Isn't her perm cute?

Violet was very good at finding the mini Cadbury Eggs inside the small ones.

Sideways picture of a happy Adelle!  She got a bunny in her egg.  And a necklace (not pictured), Tiana doll, and a special flower pot with seeds to flowers that attract faeries from Mom.

Lydia got a cute piggie in her huge Easter egg.  I think it would make a good hat.

I tried using this "no spill" dye kit from Shopko...  Yeah, it didn't work.  The eggs we put into the blue and green ended up still white.  Lydia cracked one open and discovered it was covered in blue spots inside.  The green one was too, but it was called a Dodo egg and Adelle really thought it was quite delicious.

Hope you enjoyed my update!  I promise another one sometime!  (Do you like how ambiguous I was there?)
