Birthday Bonanza

Greetings!

No, there's no word about the whole visa thing for Phil.  Sadly.  I'm betting we'll get it later today.  Hopefully.  I've been wrong on my bet two times already and owe Phil 2 pennies so far.  Terrible, isn't it?

Anyway, I just got back from St. George.  Lyndi, who is turning a number this year, decided to celebrate by leaving the Salt Lake valley and inviting her sisters and any nieces along that might be able to attend.  Mom's birthday is the day after Lyndi's, so she figured they could both celebrate together.  I didn't think I was going to be able to go as last week my days off were Wednesday and Thursday, but the kind scheduler at work randomly put me back on a Monday through Friday schedule this week so I got the weekend off and was able to go.  It was a lot of fun.  There were 8 of us total--Grandma, Mom, Laurel, LeAnn, Lyndi, Chari, Shalise, and myself.  I got to sleep on the floor. We went to Iggy's for their birthday dinner and Leann had the waitress bring out birthday surprises to both Mom and Lyndi.  Who blushed.  Which was cute.

On Sunday Lyndi made a delicious chicken salad with apples, water chestnuts, grapes, and delicious seasoning.  It was yummy.  We weren't able to find a decent price for croissants at Walmart the night before, so Chari and Shalise (my cousins) decided to go shopping.  They came back with a wonderful surprise--a white buttercream cake with 110 candles--the combined age of Mom and Lyndi.  It was like a forest of candles.
Look at all those candles!  Chari and Shalise put them on in the car outside.

Here's a video of the lighting and the quick blowing-out process.  It was surprising the sprinklers didn't go off!

This is the cake afterward.  You can see a lot of wax on it if you look closely.

Here's my piece.  With all the wax.  Made it look really cool, actually.

Here's Lyndi.  Sorry I didn't get a better picture :P

And here's mom!
It was a really fun weekend.  Happy birthday Mom and Lyndi!
